Well, I'm finally getting down to business here..... I went down to our local YMCA and got a family membership. The kids were so excited that we're actually going down tonight for family open swim after we eat dinner. :) I told my 8-year-old daughter, Jade, that she needs to push mommy and ask to go to the YMCA frequently so I get my tush off the couch and get moving. :)
With the monthly membership, all of the aerobics classes and water aerobic classes are FREE, totally included! I can even take this aerobics class called Zumba, which is a combination of aerobics and latin dancing..... that just sounds like so much fun!
Here's hoping it all goes well! I'll keep ya'll posted!

Getting Started
Mood: Hopeful
Today is the first day of blogging for me. Never been much of a blogger, so here's hoping it will go smoothly!
The other day I was inspired by a good friend of my to continue on my weight loss journey. It's been a long road for me. Approximately 8 years now I have been overweight. Growing up I never had a weight problem, but when I became pregnant with my first child the weight just piled on. I had a sit-down type of job, so I know that didn't help. Plus, I just lost all ambition to do anything physically active.
In high school, I was very thin and could do and eat whatever I want and never gain weight. However....... my metabolism was much different then and also I was a very active person. I was in the marching band and cheerleading. Also, living out in the country growing up always made for many outdoor activities and things to do to keep you busy and very active.
Michele in High School (me on the left):

I met my husband when I was 20 years old and was still very thin at that time. I just want to get back to being a weight that is healthy. I don't want to be extremely thin anymore. Looking good in clothing is all I desire anymore. I also want to be thin enough that over time I don't embarrass my children because I'm overweight and unable to physically do things that a person of a healthy weight would be able to do. I know this may sound crazy, but I would love to be able to jump on the kids trampoline and have fun, but there is a 200 pound weight limit and I'm obviously way over that limit.
Michele's Goals:
1. To lose 2 pounds a week and reach a weight loss of 10 pounds by January 23, 2010.
2. Work out 3 times a week for 20 minutes.
3. Purchase healthy food for my family and myself and cut down to eating out to only 3 days a week.
I will continue to update on my progress. I will try to post daily and have a section showing my progress and also showing my acheivements to the goals I have set for myself.
Here's to losing weight and getting back to the real me!
Peace and Love,
Michele
